I am loving the Tim Holtz tags this year! I have learned so many new techniques and even came up with a few of my own while "Using What I Have".
Today I am participating in the Bug Bytes Holiday Blog Hop. Pam at the Bug Bytes is our hostess. If you are participating, you should have come from She's A Sassy Lady. Your next stop is Kams Crafty Place. If you are starting here and want to be at the beginning or lose your way, Please go to The Bug Bytes.
I am working to complete all of the tags from Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas. This tag was inspired by his Day 6 tag.
I started by cutting a tag that was 6.28 inches from Celebrations. I hand trimmed exact copy of the tag from Foil Tape from Inkessentials.
I laid the Foil Tape on top of the tag. I then embossed the tag with my Cuttlebug with a Misteltoe Folder.
Next I used acrylic paint to cover the embossed metal. I used a blend of 3 greens.
Once dried, I sanded the top s of the embossing to expose the metal. I swiped Vintage Photo Distress Ink across the tag. I immediately covered the tag with clear embossing enamel and heat set it. In the pics it's hard to see but in real life it's gorgeous! I then used Burgundy Stickles to dot a few berries.
i allowed the Stickles to dry and began work on my metal piece. This snowflake is a metal adornment from Tim Holtz Christmas. I inked it with Pearl Dabber Ink and then covered in clear embossing powder.
I heat set and now it is glazed. I added a small bow to the top.
After placing the snowflake on the tag, I decided the tag needed more.
So I glazed with a brush Glossy Accents to the entire tag and then sprinkled Mica Flakes on the Glossy Accents. It looks so cool in person! I then hot glued the snowflake to the tag and added my ribbon on the top.
Here are some close ups. Remember you can always click on a picture to enlarge and see more details. I did not add a Gypsy file since the tag is the only Cricut cut.
Before you go on to the next blog, make sure you leave a comment. I am giving away this elegant stamp set from Stampendous .
