This is my Day 2 of the Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas. I was able to duplicate the tag from what I had surprisingly well.
I stared by cutting two tags both 6.28 inches from Celebrations Cricut cartridge- one from kraft one from manilla.
Then I stamped my kraft tag with a music background. Then I stamped the holly in the corner.
I covered the entire tag with Picket Fence Distress Stain. Before it dried all the way, I dabbed it with a towel. Then I misted with Pearl Glimmer Mist.
Next I mounted my stamped kraft tag to my manilla one. I distressed the edges and hand sponged the holly tint.
I cut "Christmas Carols" with Blackletter Cricut cartridge from acetate. I mounted the phrase to my tag.
I cut a border from at .75 inches from Martha Stewart Elegant Cake Art Cricut cartridge out of metallic cardstock. To give the border a rustic look, I inked it with Ginger alcohol ink. Next I placed 6 brads across the border. I only had bright gold ones, so I tinted them with Pitch Black alcohol ink. Once in place, I hammered the tops.
Next I cut this deer from Christmas Cricut cartridge at 3.63 inches out of chipboard.
Next I hand trimmed Sticky Back Canvas and placed it on top of the chipboard cut.
I frayed the edges and used Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.
Finally I mounted the deer to the tag and added a wreath around his neck.
I tied dyed crinkle ribbon to the top with a Christmas Muse token, twine, and burlap.
I think my favorite part of this tag is the layered stamping. I love how the handtinting turned out- muted and subtle.
This was a fun tag to recreate- a challenge but a fun one!
Here is the free Gypsy file for download. If you download, just leave me a comment. Thanks for stopping by as I continue to make all 12 tags. Iw as going to go in order, but I have decided to let me creativity take control and post the tags as I get them done. But each Tag post will have what day of the series it is inspired by.
