Unfortunately I have had to rearrange a few posts for this week. One of my dearest friends lost her mother last week. I made this sympathy card for her. I wish I could reach out and hug her and let her know how much I wish could make it all better for her.
I used Botanicals for this card.I cut the card base and the matching layer from DCWV La Creme Stack. They were cut at 4.75 inches (real size off). I also cut a standard A2 for the base of the card.
Then I trimmed the back side off the black card base. I embossed it with Cuttlebug folder "Creative Escape Damask Logo"
I then took Terrifically Tacky Tape and lined the top edge of the card. Then I hand pleated the lace across the top. I stamped a sentiment from Pink By Design Stamps "Sympathy Set". The sentiment reads, "May you find courage to face tomorrow in the love that surrounds you today."
I added pop dots all a across the back of the black layer, leaving a small line empty. The reason I did this was because the lace adds a bit of height that I needed to balance the layer form top to bottom.
I love the elegance of this card. Thanks to Sarah's Sympathy stamp set, I had the right words to say on my card.
I know I had promised a video on Life's a Party but I wanted to get this card done and out soon. I will have the video for you tomorrow since I will be a Guest Designer at The Bug Bytes. My tutorial on the background stamps will be on Saturday or Monday. Thanks for understanding! Hugs!
