Blooming Friends Card

"Friends are Flowers in the Garden of Life" I just love this sentiment! It is from Pink By Design stamp set Life's A Garden.  This week at Pink By Design we are challenging readers to create projects and then link up with theme of "In The Garden".
I had a great time making this card. It is a standard A2.  The base is from Mind's Eye. The cuts are from Bloom Lite Cartridge.  I cut the layers with Real Size off at 3.04 inches.  I did not cut all the coordinating layers to this image because I knew I wanted to leave room for the sentiment and place my own handmade flowers on the stems. The scallops to make the flowers were actually test cuts form my Imagine.  They were cut at 2 inches and 3 inches. So many Cricut Cartridges have scallops; any of them will do.
I inked all the layers of the planter box with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I detailed the cut with my black gel pen. The stems were covered with Matte Accents from Ranger.
While the Matte Accents dried, I went to work on the flowers. I call them Faux Cabochon because they remind me of the vintage petaled buttons that are so popular now.  These are very easy flowers to make.  I have shown these flowers before but have never done a video for them.  If you need a photo tutorial follow THIS LINK
Once my flowers were dried, I used hot glue to adhere them to the stems. I inked the edge of the card with Rusty Hinge Distress Ink.
I love this card! I hope you will link up your projects that feature the theme In The Garden.  You can link up any project that follows the theme.  It closes on Saturday night. If you have time, hop over to the Pink By Design Blog for more inspiration. I have the free Gypsy file for download if you click below.
I hope you leave me some blog love by commenting and subscribing/following.
