217 is Calling For You! My 3x3 Paisley Calling Card

I know I have been MIA for almost 2 weeks now.  But really in all seriousness, I have been super busy.  As a challenge to myself, I am going to try and post each day in the month of October.  So we'll see how well I can do. I am hoping that this will keep me motivated to take a few moments each day and share what I have worked on. I am depending on my readers to keep me motivated! So leave a comment or two here and there.
The last time I posted was my layout that I was taking to Des Moines for Cricut Circle Meet up.  Sherry "Octoberbeauty" and I road tripped from Kansas City to DesMoines. We had a blast! Shannon from ProvoCraft graciously shared lots of info and answered questions for all of us.  We had a little over 25 show up. We had lots of yummy snacks and food.  Sara "Pink Cricut" gave away some stamp sets. But the big excitement came when Shannon from ProvoCraft gave everyone a Gypsy!
So one of the reasons ProvoCraft does the meet-ups is so fellow crafters can get together and share.  One aspect of this is through a "calling card".  These are little 3x3 cards that have your info to share and stay in touch with other Circlets.
Mine were made using Paisley.
WOW! My desk is messy in this pic!
I glittered the lipsticks tips for that extra BLING.  The tubes were cut from Black Glittered Coredinations cardstock that I found at Joann's.  The pink base is cut from gemstone Pink from Coredinations. The white background is a trick I did with my Gypsy.  I measured out a square at approx 2.80 inches.  I then took "217" from Lyrical Letters and "laid" them into the square.  I did not weld them but they are grouped.  When it cuts I am left with the negatives of "217" inside the white square.  The black backing 3x3 card "fills" the holes! I then rounded the edges with a corner rounder.

The white squares are dry embossed with Cuttlebug folder Swirls D'vine.
For DesMoines I made 40.  Since we only had about 25 show up, I had extras. This gave me the excuse to ask to go the SWARM in Salt Lake City on October 9. SWARM information from Cricut.com
After a little begging and pleading on my knees . .  I AM GOING! Now as exciting as this sounds, it means lots of work.  I need to make over 100 of these fab little cards. Needless to say I am getting bored quick! But they are coming along and hopefully will be done before the weekend is over. Boy I am getting use of my Swirls Cuttlebug folder!!!

Love your cards. I have yet to use a glittery cardstock. Do you have to use the deeper cut blade for it?

Cute calling card! I still haven't made mine, but then again I'm not sure when I'll be able to go to a swarm just yet. Thanks for sharing all your great ideas :)
