Elegant Cakes is a must have! I was almost regretting buying this cartridge until I started exploring it beyond the handbook. The cartridge is completely jammed pack as far as new cartridges are concerned. The font is perfect and cut really clean. It also welds great too! Although I will never own a Cake Machine, I will always look to the Cricut Cake cartridges as an option for papercrafting. The base of the card was made from Plantin Schoolbook. It is my take on a swing card. The file was designed to cut so the middle window can have a gift card attached to it.
I made this card for my neighbor to give to a friend to thank her for all the hard work she did at the school.
I decided on a tropical theme for the embellishments and paper so I could enter into Sassy's Love Struck Summer Challenge.
The flowers are cut at 1.43 inches and 1.14 inches
The Swirls are cut at 2.47 inches
"Thanks" is cut at 1.14 inches.
The swirls and sentiment are cut from black chipboard and then repeated on solid cardstock. I then layered the cardstock over the chipboard with Zip Dry.
Here is a top view down for folding.
Here is the card folded down flat. As you can see, double sided paper is a must have for this card. I also inked all my edges and folds with Black Soot Distress Ink from Tim Holtz.

Elizabeth...this is a stunning card. I do not often get G files from others but i am taking this one, lol. TFS!
well..for some reason I can't get it. :( I will have to figure it out myself when I get a chance.
Flowerdisco- Are you having trouble with the fold? Working from left to right- Start by folding a valley on the first scoremark and then a mountain on the second scoremark. The trick is not to fold the "center" square. HTH email me at makeupgirl217@ymail.com if you need more help! :)
Very pretty! The colors are gorgeous! I love the swing card idea....must give this a try!
